Home Assistant is open-source home automation, stewarded by the non-profit Open Home Foundation. It's built around privacy, local control, and genuine user choice: your data stays in your home, nothing is sold, and there's no lock-in. That ethos is exactly why I build on it.
Every installation includes lifetime support for its security and reliable operation. It runs fully local, with no cloud, no subscriptions, and no data leaving your home; new devices or automations are quoted separately.
How long does an installation take?
It depends on the size of your home and the number of devices, but a typical setup is done within a few days to a couple of weeks.
What hardware do I need?
A small local hub, like a mini PC or a Raspberry Pi, plus whatever smart devices you want to control. For Zigbee devices you also need a Zigbee USB adapter, a small antenna that acts as the coordinator and runs through Zigbee2MQTT. I recommend what fits your home, and the hardware is a separate cost from my work.
Do I need an electrician?
In most cases yes, some wiring needs a certified electrician. I can bring my own, or work alongside yours.
Are there any monthly subscriptions?
No. The system runs fully local, so there are no cloud fees or subscriptions. You own it outright.
