A tattoo portfolio that sells
An American Traditional tattoo artist working out of Ritual Tattoo in Athens, whose work was living entirely inside a social feed that crops it and reorders it.
Visit the live siteThe problem
A tattoo artist's portfolio is the sales pitch, and a social platform decides how much of it anyone sees. The work needed to be shown at full quality, in an order she controls, alongside a way to sell flash and prints without handing a cut of each sale to a marketplace. The visual identity is strong and specific, so a generic gallery template would have undercut the thing being sold.
What I built
- A gallery built around full-quality imagery rather than thumbnails, with the ordering under her control instead of a feed algorithm's.
- A shop for flash and prints on the same domain as the portfolio, so the work and the way to buy it are never a link apart.
- The interface is styled to her existing identity rather than to a template, because for an artist the site is part of the portfolio, not a container for it.
- TattooParlor schema with the studio's real address, so a search for a tattoo artist in Athens can match the business rather than only the name.
- Privacy and terms as real routes, which a shop taking payments needs to have and to be able to show.
Where it stands
The portfolio lives on a domain she owns, so no platform decides who sees it.
The page title targets what a customer actually searches, the style and the city, rather than only the artist's name.
The site links back here without a nofollow, which is how a small studio's reputation compounds honestly.
