Case study · Mastichari Massage
A massage studio that speaks ten languages
Konstantinos Fessaras has been a certified massage therapist in Mastichari, Kos, since 2011. Most of his clients are tourists from across Europe, so the site had to meet them in their own language. Delivered as a 7μερο package.
The problem
A tourist looking for a massage on Kos searches in German, Italian or Russian, often from a phone on the beach, and books with whoever answers first. The old WordPress site was Greek-first, its reviews were scattered, and years of inbound links pointed at URLs that were about to disappear. The business also works on request rather than on a price list, so nothing could quote a price.
What I built
- Real locale routing, /en/, /de/, /ru/ and seven more, with a full hreflang cluster and x-default on every page, so Google sends a German visitor to the German page.
- A hand-written title and description for every page in every language, 144 pairs, each within search result limits, rather than one machine-translated template.
- A fixed WhatsApp and call bar at the bottom of every page on mobile. No booking form, so nothing to fill in and nothing to spam.
- HealthAndBeautyBusiness, Person, Service and FAQPage schema, with his certificates listed by their real dates and protocol numbers, read off the scans. The Person's knowsLanguage lists only the six languages he actually speaks, not the ten the site is written in.
- 41 client comments in 7 languages recovered from the old site and kept in the language they were written in, each marked with its own lang attribute for screen readers.
- A 301 map for every legacy URL, so old inbound links land on the right new page instead of a 404.
